Dogs in Kennels, Cages and Dog Crates

Okay, so I’m allowed to get this beagle puppy i saw at the shelter and fell in love with, but my parents said this time our dogs cannot wander around the town, he has to stay in our yard or inside unless he is on a leash, but the thing is, we don’t have a fence, and my dad hates fenced in yards because cutting the grass would be a pain. So i had this idea with or shed to put a fence around the shed so the dog can go inside our shed if it is too hot outside in the grass or if its raining and we are at school, work, etc. Inside the shed will be his dog bed, toys, food bowls and such.

The door of the shed will be left open so he can move around freely, but would it be cheaper to do that or to buy a boxed kennel type thing? He’d have shelter in the dog kennel if we got that. But since I am paying for him which is 100 dollars and buying his toys and bed, i also have to purchase the fence or boxed kennel. I just wanted to know which would be cheaper? And if you know of a really cheap boxed kennel, what store would it be at?

omg he isn’t going to be outside all the time. Just when I'm at school or my parents are at work. They are teachers, so they have lunch breaks. They would come home and walk him feed him and then put him back in. Then when I get home, he would be walked and let loose while i watch him so he can run around for a while. Then he is inside. My dad retires in a couple of months, so it is not going to be forever. Dogs are supposed to be allowed some freedom and be outside. Do not judge how my dogs are raised, when you never met them, to see how they are treated. They go to vets regularly. We are great owners, and during winter he would stay at my grandma's house which is down the road. So if it gets too bad out weather wise) she would go take him to her house on any occasion. So don’t insult me, when you have no idea what I am talking about. You can find out more about escape proof and heavy duty dog crates at http://doggytoggery.com/escape-proof-dog-crates

yeah, the only breed we get are beagles, they are escape artists lol, but this little guy isn’t. When i go visit him at the shelters, he is always calm and polite. Also they have him there at kennels and he’s never tried to leave lol while all the other beagles have found a way out. The people at the shelter said he was brought there because he wouldn’t hunt, which is a horrible reason to give up him, he is so sweet.

not all beagles do. My old dog Barney was a beagle/basset and yes he hunted, but he was never on a leash. He went where he wanted to and he came home, same with our beagle mix now. She always comes hom. Also, i’m sick of the comments, saying i’m not a great owner. My dog will live inside with me! he will sleep in my room and while we are home he is inside with us or outside with us. Just for work purposes, he will be in a boxed kennel or the fence that i thought of. Beagles are not breed who are happy being inside all the time.

They love outdoors. Beagles are the only dog my family has ever adopted and thats because my dad grew up with beagles all his life. beagles are our specialty. We raise them fine. They are in perfect health. And they aren’t just left outside and only get human contact when fed. I volunteer at shelters and my aunt is a vet tech. and i’m going to be a vet. So i know how to treat animals.
